Start a company - 18+
The Starter Company Plus Program is aimed at entrepreneurs aged 18 and older who are not returning to school and are interested in starting, purchasing, or expanding a business as their full-time occupation.
This program is free for all participants and provides a valuable opportunity to develop their business ideas while drawing on a variety of experienced and professional r esources.
Starter Company Plus is funded by the provincial government as part of the ‘Ready. Set. Work.’campaign and the Youth Jobs Strategy. The program is delivered by Enterprise Temiskaming in our catchment area, which includes all communities South of Latchford, North of Kirkland Lake, West to Matachewan, and East to the Quebec Border.

Start-up and growth funding for entrepreneurs under the age of 39
Futurpreneur (formerly Canadian Youth Business Foundation) is a national non-profit organization dedicated to growing our nation’s economy one young entrepreneur at a time. We look at character not collateral, when providing youth, age 18-39, with pre-launch coaching, business resources, start-up financing and mentoring, to help them launch and sustain a successful entrepreneurial business.
Futurpreneur Canada has been fuelling the entrepreneurial passions of Canada’s young enterprise for nearly two decades. We are the only national, non-proﬁt organization that provides ﬁnancing, mentoring and support tools to aspiring business owners aged 18-39. Our internationally recognized mentoring program hand matches young entrepreneurs with a business expert from a network of more than 2,800 volunteer mentors.
Studio Y’s mission is to support young talent in realizing their full potential to transform our future in Ontario.
Each year, up to 25 young innovators and leaders from across Ontario will be invited to participate in an eight-month program focused on personal mastery, 21st century skills development, project-based real-world experience and systems change leadership.
As a Studio Y Fellow you will:
- Discover people, ideas, and organizations exploring the edges of a new future
- Learn tangible skills to thrive in the 21st century
- Learn and work at Studio Y’s home at MaRS Discovery District
- Explore an area of interest guided by an individualized personal endeavor
- Receive dedicated coaching and access to networks, events and opportunities
- Contribute to building a movement of systems change leaders and innovators
- $25,000 in direct financial assistance including a living stipend and follow-on alumni supports
- Shift your perspective by living, learning and working in one of Studio Y’s regional hubs across Ontario
